The City of Melissa recently broke ground on a new 40,000 SF Public Safety Building. The facility is being constructed by Crossland Construction on Hwy 5 just south of Melissa Road and will house the Central Fire Station, Fire Administration, Police Headquarters, and the Municipal Court. It is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024.

The construction will also mean some reshuffling of offices at City Hall as the Municipal Court, and Fire Administration take up much of the City Hall's first floor while the Police Department occupies a wing on the second floor. The facility will make way for the continued growth of services needed to maintain the city's booming economy.
